Boston University's club sport program is comprised of 32 club sports. A club sport is a student organization designed to serve individual interests in different sports and activities. Club sport activities range from informal play to regular practice or instruction, to intercollegiate and tournament competition. The wide ranges of club programs are a vital part of student-life and the BU experience.

Although clubs compete with other organizations just as varsity sports do, the two should not be confused. Club sports differ from varsity sports in that clubs are responsible for their expenses. Financial commitments are primarily met through dues, student organized events, and annual fundraising (coordinated with the Office of Terrier Pride). For more information on supporting Boston University’s club sports, please contact the Office of Terrier Pride at 617-358-3008 or email Terrier Pride.

Club sports are open only to full-time Boston University undergraduate students. Certain recreational clubs may include graduate students.  Graduate students may not compete on a club that is competitive in nature, that conducts try-outs or if participation by a graduate student takes an opportunity away from an undergraduate student.  Faculty, staff, alumni and FitRec Members are not permitted to join a club sport.
