4 Court/Infield Area

Dimensions of room: Infield and banked track have a combined area of 51, 806 square feet.
Description of space: Separated by a heavy-duty curtain system, the infield can be used as anywhere one large space or four individual spaces. The courts are lined foOctober 12, 2006but the infield can be used to for a wide variety of activities as well as large non-athletic events.
Special AV features of this space: Sound system encompasses the entire facility, but can be altered to include/exclude all areas of the building. There is also a mobile sound unit for special events that features a CD player and stereo that feed directly into the building's sound system. Throughout the infield there are small boxes implanted that feature both electrical outlets and Internet hookups. Wireless microphones and hearing impaired devices are also available.
Capacity standing: The maximum occupancy for the facility can be expanded to 4,800 either sitting or standing (special permit required).
Potential uses for space: Practically every athletic program and a number of club sports can make use of the infield as a practice space during the year along with it's hosting national track meets and tennis matches. In addition, the infield can be used to host any number of large events. Due to the versatility of the curtain system and the Rekortan surface, the possibilities are virtually limitless.
Any other special features of space: The perimeter curtain system can be utilized to close off the infield completely from view, allow spectators to watch while keeping balls inside the infield, or be raised completely and open up the infield for large events. The infield also can be accessed by a large delivery/ambulance ramp (10' wide x 13' high) in the southwest corner for the loading and unloading of equipment.

Track (6 lanes, banked)

Dimensions of room: Infield and banked track have a combined area of 51, 806 square feet.
200 meter fixed-bank oval track oval track with tuned interface between structure and deck for greater rebound and increased speed.   There is also a single warm-up lane outside of the perimeter of the oval and a high/triple jump runway in front of the sand pit.  
Special AV features of this space: Sound system encompasses the entire facility, but can be altered to include/exclude all areas of the building. There is also a mobile sound unit for special events that features a CD player and stereo that feed directly into the building's sound system. Wireless microphones and hearing impaired devices are also available.
Capacity standing: The maximum occupancy for the facility can be expanded to 4,800 either sitting or standing (special permit required).
Potential uses for space: The track and jogging lane can be used for a range of activities from recreational walking/jogging to conditioning and of course for national track meets.   The high/triple jump area is used exclusively for track practice and meets, but the sand pit can be covered up for events.
Any other special features of space: There is an additional space outside of the jogging lane on the west end of the building used primarily for stretching and warm-up along with additional bleachers that can be expanded for athletic and event seating. Batting cage lowers from ceiling for baseball and softball team practices. West end of infield enclosed to create indoor golf range.

Throwing Area

Dimensions of room: 4,465 square feet.
Description of space: The throwing area is lined for shot put and weight throw events, but also features a large mirror along east wall for aerobic, boxing and martial arts programs. Space also offers storage closets, and three large curtains to protect them during track events. The surface is Rekortan, similar to that of the infield.  
Special AV features of this space: The sound system encompasses the entire facility, but can be altered to include/exclude all areas of the building. There is also a mobile sound unit for special events that features a CD player and stereo that feed directly into the building's sound system. Wireless microphones and hearing impaired devices are also available. Portable system desirable for events held only in this space.
Potential uses for space: The throwing area is used not only for weight throw and shot put, but also for a number of cardio based PERD classes such as aerobics, intramurals, martial arts clubs and boxing classes. The large square footage of the area along with the fact that it is self-enclosed also allows for activities such as wiffleball, judo, and small group athletic practices. It has also been used as a staging and reception area for events such as Commencement and Matriculation.
Any other special features of space: Space is lockable.

Seating Area

Dimensions of space: 5,174 square feet.
Description of space: Spectator seating.
Special AV features of this space: The sound system encompasses the entire facility, but can be altered to include/exclude all areas of the building.   There is also a mobile sound unit for special events that features a CD player and stereo that feed directly into the building's sound system.   Wireless microphones and hearing impaired devices are also available.
Capacity standing: Standing along glass rail is discouraged as it blocks the view of those seated behind.
Capacity seated classroom style: 1,300 fixed seats as well as 16 ADA wheelchair spaces and companion seating.
Potential uses for space: The space is designed primarily for spectator seating although the space has also been used for university classes.
Any other special features of space: On top of the seating to the East side of the building there is a platform designed for video and photography.

Fitness Room

Dimensions of room: 1,209 square feet.
Description of space: Fitness room equipped with treadmills, elliptical machines, stationary bikes, and weight training machines. Full length mirrors line three of the four walls.
Special AV features of this space: The sound system is the same as that of the rest of the facility, but can be turned off to facilitate personal stereos or walkmans.   This space is also Internet ready.  
Capacity standing: 20; 50 without equipment
Potential uses for space: This space is used primarily for strength and conditioning for both athletes and PERD classes.
Any other special features of space: Natural light at south side of room. Mondo flooring.

Conference Room

Dimensions of room: 291 square feet.
Description of space: Conference room equipped with a fax machine, telephone, large table, and chairs. Room is carpeted and has translucent glass on south and east sides of room. Shades cal be pulled for video displays.  
Special AV features of this space: The sound system encompasses the entire facility, but can be altered to include/exclude all areas of the building. The room is also Internet ready.  
Capacity seated classroom style: 16 at conference table.
Potential uses for space: The space is used primarily as a conference room, but can also be used as a storage room for events. Has been used for small banquet functions such as team dinners or staff luncheons.

Lobby

Dimensions of room: 4,062 sq ft
Description of space: Facility lobby featuring a security desk as well as an electronic security gate. Concession stand on south wall of lobby. Ticket office and windows at west end of lobby.
Special AV features of this space: The security desk features control over the facility's sound system, paging system as well as having telephone and internet access. The desk also houses the security monitors for the facility's camera system.
Capacity standing: 100
Potential uses for space: The lobby and security desk are used primarily to monitor those entering and exiting the facility as well as gaining access to the other areas. Lobby can be used for registration area or a small standing reception.
Any other special features of space: There is a glass encased bulletin board that can house information about facility events. Restrooms and vending area close by.
