A gift from Robert L. and Sharon G. Ryan, the Ryan Center for Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation provides exceptional service to clients who reap the benefits of a full continuum of care operating in one building. Programming includes orthopedics, sports medicine, radiology, physical therapy, post-rehab training and prevention. Sargent College students are also encouraged to take advantage of the resources available in the Ryan Center to build on their academic coursework with clinical experience.

Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine

Staffed by the Boston University Team Orthopaedic Physicians, the practice diagnoses and provides treatment for a wide range of orthopedic problems. Patient care is streamlined with the availability of onsite diagnostic testing and integration of the physicians as part the team.

Specializing in orthopedic and sports injury rehabilitation, the center combines advanced treatment techniques provided by experienced clinicians and customer service excellence to help individuals meet their rehabilitation goals. Using the facility's state of the art resources (including a Swim-Ex therapeutic pool) and focusing on individualized care, manual therapy, and therapeutic exercise, the physical therapy center is among the top facilities of its type in the country.

Post Rehab Training and Prevention

Jointly, rehabilitation and exercise specialists provide programs that fine-tune gains patients have made in rehabilitation. Emphasis is on prevention and further improvement of the individual's condition. Progressive group and individual prevention programs are offered for key areas (i.e. Healthy Back, Lower Body Strengthening).

Nutrition Programs, Counseling and Outreach

Dynamic programming is offered at the beginning, intermediate and advanced levels. For beginners, programming is focused on education and realistic lifestyle modifications. Advanced programming is also offered for competitive athletes and others who wish to continue their education for peak performance. Also, outreach programs bring nutrition and lifestyle improvement information to the entire campus.
